The Eve of Jackie
IMAGES THEATRE presents "The Eve of Jackie" Starring Chester Gregory.
THE EVE OF JACKIE is a high-energy, exciting tribute show of the life and music of two-time Grammy and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Jackie Wilson, whose buttery-rich vocals and flamboyant dance style inspired such greats as James Brown, Elvis Presley, and Michael Jackson. The ITC production will include band musicians and background vocalists from both Los Angeles and Sacramento.
Wilson, a legendary performer, known as "Mr. Excitement," recorded more than 50 hit singles, from the late 1950s through the '60s. With his four-octave voice, he released such hits as Lonely Teardrops, Baby Workout, and Higher and Higher. Chester Gregory in THE EVE OF JACKIE transforms into Wilson and takes the audience on an historical and intimate journey back to September, 1975 for Wilson’s last full “live” performance before having a heart attack and lapsing into the coma that lasted until his demise.
The New York Times stated, “Chester Gregory captures the essence of Wilson with such physical and vocal dexterity that it’s almost impossible to imagine that anyone else could do it.”
“...such physical and vocal dexterity that it’s almost impossible to imagine that anyone else could do it."

We Are The Ones
IMAGES THEATRE presents "We Are The Ones"...a new play written and directed by Lisa Lacy, with musical direction by Charles Cooper and choreography by Grace O. Wash.
"We Are The Ones" is the story of three youth that are swept up and transported back in time by two Ancient African spirits. As they are led through historical occurrences, each youth comes to terms with their own past, and is forced to analyze their own choices. By looking back at the foundations laid by their ancestors, they decide what contributions they will make in their present and future.
By illustrating the significant impact of rich African-American history on today's society, "We Are The Ones" poses the powerful question of what if! What if our historical heroes/sheroes did not step up and into their destinies? At the same time, it highlights for our youth their potential, signalling the importance of stepping into their own destinies and becoming the heroes/sheroes of tomorrow.
This play provides a roller coaster of emotions! What an amazing experience
An evening that will remain in memory for the rest of my life! Educational, entertaining, emotional and exciting!
